EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Banque Saudi Fransi is a well-known financial institution that provides excellent
services that are diverse and imperative to different stakeholders of the country. For the past years,

financial sectors.
They maintain a great market, partnered with highly respectable organizations in the

As a trainee of this organization, especially in the quality assurance audit department, a
great privilege has been taken part of the corners of my dream as it unfolds another milestone of
my professional career and development.
In the department itself, I was able to learn new things and systems that provide additional
information on how to conduct a large business, on how things are carried out amidst the
bombarding and overwhelming processes – given that I was assigned to a department were

My training period gives me a continuous learning curve as it allows me to engage, interact,

CHAPTER 2: INTERNSHIP ACTIVITIES
The opportunities we acquired during our internship period is so important to our career
development and growth as a student. It prepared us to be fully aware on the things we need to
foresee on the business world, the proper and professional way to interact with diverse people,
molding us to be a paradigm to the corporate arena, where own mental resources absorbed during
the training period will also be shared to the reality of business.
The Banque Saudi Fransi, especially the Internal Audit Quality Assurance Department
headed by our trainee supervisor, Afnan Alamri, provides a great experience in our academic years.
The learnings, development, and career improvements we had during this internship provides a
bedrock to our next step beyond these corners.
I was assigned to this department which focused on the adherence to different set of rules,
standards, and professional framework in carrying out the business process with due diligence neglecting improper measures in the conduct of its operation.
FIRST BRIEF SUMMARY OF TASKS
Tasks
Quality Assurance Process
Skills
New Internal Audit System
Meetings
Two (2) Meetings in discussion of risk ratings and findings
Challenges
Complexity of the new system learned
Learnings
The auditors behind auditor’s aspect, the process of the “teammates
system” and how it works, and the Quality Insurance Process including
planning, fieldworks, and reports.
On the first days of our training, the delegation of tasks where made wherein I was
designated to the quality assurance process. We were instructed with different tasks ensuring that
the processes made by the company in relation to their conduct of offering their own products and
services to its stakeholders are objectively done, which means they met the desired and required
reliability and accuracy.
10
These training days, we were introduced to an internal audit system called teammates. It’s
an online platform where it provides assistance and support to attain audit productivity. The system
was divided into many modules and was able to gauge the Team EWP and Team Central
navigations. Through this new learning, we can easily identify the different works in the auditing
departments such as operations, credit risks, and information technologies.
We participated to two (2) meetings. A weekly meeting and internal closing meeting which
discusses the risk rating and different findings within the audit period. Through these engagements,
we were able to interact and gauge with different insights in the performance of auditing.
Within this period, I experienced no difficulties. A little adjustment on the controls of
teammate system such as the modifications of inputs. It was a bit complex but a great system we
had the opportunity to be exposed of.
An emphasis to this week is the concept behind the “auditors having auditor”. It was
shocking to know that even an auditor who audits compliance for the company has his own auditor
who audit his work if he performed well and do his assurance with objectivity and consistency.
SECOND BRIEF SUMMARY OF TASKS
Tasks
Enter SAMA Findings through the Teammate System
Skills
Information Inputs in Teammate System
Meetings
Weekly Meeting, and Internal Closing Meeting
Challenges
Improvement on technical skills in conduct of teammate system
Learnings
Requires more effort in the audit process
On our later weeks, we were tasked to enter SAMA’s Findings through the Teammate
System. We were taught on how to enter information in a private file including the following data:
1) Issue and Recommendation Title
2) Issue Type: SAMA Audit
3) State: Close Verified
4) Findings and Recommendation
11
5) Due Date
6) Contacts
7) Comments
8) Risk Rating: High
In this period, we attended Internal Closing meetings regarding Enterprise Security Controls
Review where the team discussed risk ratings of raise findings (IT Audit).
A room for improvement was allotted to overcome the challenge on the system since it requires
a comprehensive technical skill.
What a great lesson here is that SAMA’s findings are significant and with high risks, therefore
an issue that needs immediate solution and investigation. All SAMA’s findings are on a high-level
of risk.
Quality Assurance is more than just an examination of auditors, it requires significant time
since QA modify and create unique files such as reporting and monitoring. Keen to details should
be maintained so it will not omit errors and avoid unnecessary processes that will prejudice the
whole auditing process.
THIRD BRIEF SUMMARY OF TASKS
Tasks
QA Review, QA Tracker, QA HR Tracker
Skills
Set of Audit Trainings
Meetings
Various meetings
Challenges
Reporting
Learnings
The different key areas of audit
In this specific time, we were assigned to do Quality Assurance Review, Quality Assurance
Tracker, and Quality Assurance HR Tracker.
We gained different skills since we were exposed to a set of trainings emphasizing different
fields of audit.
12
Enumerated below are the trainings attended that became a core to our audit knowledge:
1) Training in BSF Academic (Risk based Internal Audit)
2) LIA Audit Standards, and Impact on the Role of Internal auditors
3) Power point presented to Anoop K Sapra, CA, CPA
4) Internet Audit Group
5) The reports on the second quarter of 2022
Two (2) weekly meetings were observed, HR interview for auditors’ job, opening meeting for
(Kafalah Guarantee program) Credit Audit, Training Sessions (Audit Associate), External closing
meeting for (SFL HRD Audit), and Action plan meeting (Targeted Inspections Audit for IA for
BSF).
Reporting became one of my challenges on this period since it need to be concise and be fully
understandable to the readers. A lot of patience in gauging this training was allotted to secure the
accuracy of reports.
To summarize, we received a positively overwhelming trainings and discussions throughout
these activities. Every week, we were assigned to new processes that is vital to the whole conduct
of audit. Through the guidance and excellence of our supervisors, colleagues, and the whole
department as well, we were equipped with powerful insights and recommendations that will
enhance our technical skills – developing us to be more nurtured auditor in the future.
13
CHAPTER 3: RECOMMENDATIONS
After the memorable training with Banque Saudi Fransi (BSF), lot of learnings and lifetime
experiences were incorporated though my amazing journey of this training spearheaded by our
academic supports.
The internal audit department provides a wide range of skills and set a standard for a new
level of working environment since it tackles a well comprehensive processes that might new but
helpful to the trainees or even the employees, they are currently investing in. As somewhat part of
this organization, I am deeply honored to be honed by technical skills, and has the chance to know
different systems, processes, and key responsibilities that are deemed necessary in carrying out a
certain business.
Theories are only words that is processed solely by mind in contrast with the actual practice
that provides application and exercise to what is theoretically learned. This is what I testify to BSF
because it moves me to a new level of education and experience. They provide adequate and
appropriate level of competencies and trainings and give us the chance to interact with the
employees within the organization.
As part of recommendation processes, I just want to learn more and should have they
emphasized the following concepts.
1) The company’s internal audit standards
2) Missions of internal Audit
3) Standards of Conduct
4) Audit Action Plan Cycle
5) Audit Charter
6) Risk based Internal Audit
However, these are just few concepts I want to be elaborated more. Nonetheless, the training
period with BSF is amazing, perfectly fit for the starters of the corporate arena, a well-established
organization that is capable in molding business innocent minds and establishing a value and
strength that would be a lifetime strength and advantage as we faced complexities in the corporate
world.
14
Without gaining and proper practice, we can’t visualize how theories really work. The BSF
doesn’t accommodate us for their own sake and to minimize their loads, but happily shared their
knowledge and utmost foundations for us to cope up with their daily working routines. An
academic qualification should encompass the following skills to be mentally prepared on this kind
of training.
1) Strong foundation on audit-related theories
2) Aware of the basic concepts on how audit is performed
3) Familiar with different auditing terms for us not to be confused to interchanging words.
The skills after the training:
1) Solid understanding on the audit processes
2) Reporting on accurate and objective manner
3) Relate the theoretical audit into a practical one
4) Learn new technologies that solve audit problems and provide quality QA reports
5) Training ground for aspiring auditors in a large business organization
