An ecologist is concerned that a certain pond has become increasingly contaminated by acid deposition. For evidence he produces this graph, which charts the pond’s pH and dissolved sulfur levels over a period of 10 years. How does the graph support the ecologist’s concern? Explain how the acid deposition may be related to the coal-fired power plant that was built in 1999 near the pond. (5 points)
